Julien & Vinvin revealed their secret project[fr] yesterday: a business book on Kelkoo (one of the leading comparison shopping engines in EU). The reason why I am looking forward to this book is that it will deal with on of the few true French startup success story.

The company was created in 1999 by Pierre Chappaz and Mauricio Lopez (who developed the technology behind kelkoo at INRIA). They started with € 3,000,000 from an intial round of financing in 1999 (some of the invertors were Banexis Ventures and Innovacom) and got bought by Yahoo! for about € 475,000,000 in 2004.
