a lot of promising meetings this week:
- On Monday, the sold out (300 attendees!!) Search SIG/Mobile Monday meeting. The topic will be the stat of the art of mobile search at Google's headquarter.
with live demo from 4INFO, Caboodle Networks, Google and Yahoo!
- Ted Burns, 4INFO
- Mark Grandcolas, Caboodle Networks
- Jack Denenberg, Cingular Wireless
- Elad Gil, Google
- Mihir Shah, Yahoo! Search
No wonder it is sold out! I am sure we will have podcasts and comments available on various blogs for those who can not attend.
- On Tuesday, Emerging Tech SIG meeting: New Business Opportunities Leveraging Web APIS
Because of the current Term of Use (TOS) and rate limits imposed on the use of most of the public APIs, there were a lot of questions related to what type of business model can be built on top of web APIs at the Yahoo APIs/widgets meeting 2 weeks ago. Since the 4 top players will be represented, I hope to get some good answers during this meeting.
- Adam Trachtenberg, eBay
- Chris DiBona, Google APIs
- Jeff Barr, Amazon Web Services
- Robert Goldberg, IdeaLab
- Toni Schneider, Yahoo APIs
- John Rodkin, CEO of F2 (a new startup using Web APIs)
- On Thursday, a third SDForum meeting: Social Networking 2.0 - Going Mobile.
- Jonathan Abrams, Friendster
- Craig Callé, COMMON.net
- Kevin Efrusy, Accel
- Anu Nigam, PartySync
